powered by PechaKucha SHORT MOVIES SCREENING by Max Bessmertny

In past editions THIS IS MY CITY has successfully combined its “Powered by PechaKucha” Conferences with screenings of short films, presented to the public in the beautiful and inviting al fresco ambience of the Old Ladies House courtyard. 2013 saw the Macau premiere of The Tricycle Thief by local director Maxim Bessmertny, a short film that went on to feature in the Toronto International Film Festival 2014 and win the 2015 Kodak Student Scholarship Program Gold Award. Last year’s short films were selected and curated by local artist and musician António Vale Conceição.
Russian-born, Macau/Hong Kong-based director Maxim Bessmertny is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of The Arts with an MFA in Film Production. Maxim’s latest narrative short film Tricycle Thief World Premiered at Toronto International Film Festival, won the 2015 Kodak Gold Award for best short film and has played at numerous festivals worldwide. He is now finishing his thesis short film, Strangers on a Boat.
