The Festivalization of Our Cities

Festivals are currently the trendiest kind of event in the world. But how do these happenings shape our city and the neighboring regions? What economic role do festivals play in the Pearl Delta River (PDR) region? These and many other questions will be discussed in a panel that aims to help understand the shifts, evolutions and roles that festivals represent in our societies.

The Seminar will consist in debates and talks regarding this industry and includes speakers such as Daniel Pires (Maus Hábitos, Event Promoter), Manuel Silva (This Is My City Festival, Director) and Rui Simões (NOYB Talents Agency, Co-Founder).

What's Up lies in the city's old neighbourhood, a location which brings some mystery to its ambience. Being a "pop-up" space it mainly does, sells and has a bit of everything from concerts to exhibits, coffee and music. It is a communal space to meet people. In a world of constant change where it reigns the ephemerality of things, feelings and desires, this space offers the thing many search most: newness.
The entrance is free of charge.
